MSFS Weekly Briefing September 3 2026

Members of the Microsoft Flight Simulator and Asobo Studios teams presented the new National Championship Air Races mode for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 at gamescom 2026 in Cologne. The mode featuring 4-player lobbies will launch on October 13 2026 for all players. During the event, four announcements were made: the mode arrives on October 13 2026 for MSFS 2024, City Update 16 for Italy and Local Legend 25 for the Heinkel He 70 Blitz are already available, and the Lufthansa 100 Years liveries will appear soon.

Additionally, a small update, Sim Update 6.1 (version 1.8.16.0), has been released on all platforms to address issues identified since the launch of SU6 three weeks ago. The full release notes for SU6.1 are available.

A community mixer with members of the MSFS team and flight sim fans took place during gamescom, including an aviation trivia game.
