DCS MiG-17F development update and P-47D campaign announced

Development of the DCS: MiG-17F has reached a significant milestone. Hydraulic, pneumatic and oxygen systems are now fully implemented, along with navigation, cockpit lighting and most instrumentation. Avionics include a functional P-800 radio and an ARK-5 automatic radio compass enabling historical NDB instrument approaches. The VK-1F engine has been overhauled with realistic effects such as compressor surges, flameouts and hot starts, complemented by a new sound environment recorded from a real MiG-17F.

The flight and damage models have been refined further. Aerodynamic properties, control forces and stall/spin behavior were adjusted. Structural and system damage now directly affects flight performance, including fuel leaks, fires and progressive system failures. Validation against a real MiG-17F showed close alignment in several performance parameters, including RPM, power settings and exhaust gas temperature.

Reflected Campaigns announced the DCS: P-47D Eagles Rising campaign. The 12 historical missions are based on original documents and recreate operations of the 4th Fighter Group in late 1943 and early 1944. The campaign requires the DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt module as well as the DCS: Normandy 2.0 map and the WWII Assets Pack.
